Mammoth, CA. Great place to install some solar. Even greater place to shoot some solar. Sometimes waiting around for the right light is a joy. That, and the water in Mammoth is hands down the best tasting municipal water anywhere.
The Cincinnati Zoo recently celebrated the completion of their 1.56 MW solar carport. The canopy structure has 6400 panels and will provide approximately 20% of the Zoo’s energy needs along with shade for parked cars. Solar panels are appearing on more and more industrial rooftops and carports across the U.S. These images are from a recent RC Heli job in northern California. Next…P2 heads to Cincinnati to shoot the nation’s largest publicly accessible solar installation (another BIG carport).
P2 was recently in the central California town of Newman for another RC Helicopter shoot. We lucked out on the setting…an enormous almond orchard in full bloom. What we didn’t plan for was the boxes of honeybees that had been brought in to pollinate…we lost a few little soldiers to curiosity.
This week we were back in Irvine with the RC Helicopter. If you think this looks a bit surreal you’ve got the right idea.
