Last week in Kentucky Jon shot the Cropper family. They are part of a program at People’s Self Help Housing that is dedicated to helping low-income families purchase new homes with superior insulation and solar power. This keeps monthly bills to a minimum and reduces financial stress.
Jon recently spent a week shooting a story on the state of the solar industry in Kentucky. The highlight of the trip was a helicopter flight provided by the Kentucky Air National Guard. Mammoth, CA. Great place to install some solar. Even greater place to shoot some solar. Sometimes waiting around for the right light is a joy. That, and the water in Mammoth is hands down the best tasting municipal water anywhere.
P2 was recently in Boulder, Colorado photographing an electric delivery truck for Boulder Electric Vehicle. This image was taken just before sunrise. P2 was recently in the central California town of Newman for another RC Helicopter shoot. We lucked out on the setting…an enormous almond orchard in full bloom. What we didn’t plan for was the boxes of honeybees that had been brought in to pollinate…we lost a few little soldiers to curiosity.
This week we were back in Irvine with the RC Helicopter. If you think this looks a bit surreal you’ve got the right idea.
